It all started with a shared love of music and chocolate biscuits.

Nathan and Alfie first met in 2022 whilst studying Music at Southend College. Between late-night jam sessions and half written songs they plotted to form a band. Another college mate Oliver Furness agreed to drum for them so with abundant talent and big plans, they had the music but no lead singer.

Fast forward to one Monday lunchtime in early September 2023 when they discovered Finn busking in Southend High Street.  When Nathan spotted him, he was belting out ‘It Must Be Love’ by Labi Siffre and had drawn a bit of an audience. Nathan was impressed not only with his voice but with his song choices. A regular Saturday busker, Finn very nearly didn’t go to play that day.

That night, Nathan messaged Finn on Instagram and said “You wanna be in a band?”

One rehearsal was all it took: Finn’s voice, Alfie’s riffs, Nathan’s basslines, and Oliver’s beats just clicked. In no time, they went from fumbling through covers to crafting a sound that felt bigger than all of them. For six months, everything was rocking - until life threw a curveball…

Oliver had to step away for personal reasons, leaving the band without a drummer. It could’ve been the end, but the three remaining boys were not about to let things fall apart.

April ‘ 24 the band approached Denny, someone Finn knew from the open mic sessions at Peggy’s Music Bar in Leigh-on-Sea. A wild card behind the kit with a knack for hitting drums like he’s fighting an invisible enemy. Denny brought a new energy to the group, and suddenly, the band was sharper, louder, and even more unpredictable.

Now, with Finn’s voice leading the charge and Denny’s chaos driving the beat, the four of them are a force to be reckoned with. What started as a shaky dream has turned into something real—and they’re just getting started.
