Denny James Keil

There’s never a dull moment with Denny around, drummer, backing vocalist and prolific talker, on and off the stage.

He’s a whirlwind of noise and untamed comedy. He’s a human wrecking ball who keeps the whole band running on adrenaline.

His drumsticks are an extension of his personality. His playing style is more like a brawl than a performance. His arms are a blur pounding the kit like he’s trying to break through it but always with an enthusiastic grin on his face.  Mid performance, he’s been known to lose those sticks, his glasses or even his shirt.

Even though he’s usually positioned at the back of the stage, he’s front and centre when it comes to commanding attention. The audience just can’t get enough of him.  Denny is most definitely a crowd pleaser.

Despite all of that chaos, his drumming is incredible.  He brings an explosive mix of rhythm and unhinged energy that keeps the band’s sound alive. When he’s able to, he harmonises into the mic to turn a good night into something special.

He’s unpredictable and unfiltered but loveable with it. His relentless humour is sharp, often brutal, but it’s how he shows he cares about you. You never know what he’s going to do next but you DO know that it will be loud and unforgettable.

Next on Monumental’s shopping list is a spare drum kit….just in case.
